Choose from a broad tool collection
The Ginza studio offers a wide selection of brushes, inkstones, inks, and decorative tools. English-speaking staff help beginners choose appropriate materials and explain how brush type, ink load, and pressure influence the finished stroke.
Practice meaningful characters
After learning grip, posture, stroke order, and ink control, practice kanji or a Japanese rendering of your name on traditional paper. Staff provide guidance on character selection, although a particular name translation or kanji combination cannot always be guaranteed.
Create two finished works
Apply colored ink and stamps to a personalized uchiwa fan and shikishi art board, then take photographs in the Japanese-style venue. The standard works are placed in a complimentary tote bag; folding fans, daruma dolls, and other optional objects may cost extra.
