Visit Hakata’s historic working brewery
Ishikura Shuzō is presented as Hakata’s only operating sake brewery. Its Hakata Hyakunengura building has more than 150 years of history and is registered as a National Tangible Cultural Property, providing an atmospheric setting close to central Fukuoka.
Taste sake and liqueurs at your pace
Redeem the confirmed tasting allocation and compare the brewery’s available selections, considering aroma, sweetness, acidity, body, and finish. The standard program is a tasting in the public area and does not promise entry to the active brewing floor or a guided production tour.
Take home a cup and shop locally
The referenced package includes an original tasting cup and a ¥300 voucher for the direct-sales shop when offered. Guests may purchase bottles after tasting, but airline liquid limits, import allowances, and safe transport remain the traveler’s responsibility.
Travel responsibly
Japan’s legal drinking age is 20, and identification may be requested. Guests must not drive or cycle after drinking. The experience is best incorporated into a rail-based Fukuoka day or a private itinerary with a non-drinking professional driver.

Take in the preserved brewery architecture and learn about the site’s role in Hakata’s sake-making history. This tasting does not normally include access to the active production process.
